A couple of months ago I went to go see Heathers the Musical for the second time. I really liked it the first time but for some reason it was the second time that got me hooked. At the stage door a lot people were sneaking in front of me and a few of the actors missed me when I tried to hand them my playbill. When Charissa came out she took her time and was engaged in what all of her fans had to say in a way that I’ve never seen before. I didn’t even have to say anything, she looked at me and said “Do you want me to sign this?” and all I could do was shake my head yes. She then pointed to my poster and asked me if I wanted her to sign that too. She had signed a couple before mine so I was surprised when she asked me my name, and when I told her she wrote a little message on my poster, something she didn’t really get to do for everyone. It says “Victoria, you are beautiful.” After she handed the poster back to me she asked “Can I have a hug?” to which I shook my head yes yet again. It’s funny how people that have been through tough times can spot out the people that need a little extra encouragement. When I wrote to her on Facebook a couple of weeks later because I had forgotten to give her a letter I wrote to her, she was kind enough to send me an equally as long letter. Out of everything she said “You’re allowed to make mistakes and hit speed bumps, just don’t wallow in them and let them drag you down.” is what I remember most on bad days.
